Damme is situated 5 km away from Bruges and is easily accessible by car or bike. A beautiful canal links Damme to Bruges and is a walking and biking favourite. In summer you can make the trip between Bruges and Damme by boat.

Now, Damme is a picturesque little town in the middle of the Polder countryside, but it used to be the sea port for Bruges. The beautiful historic buildings, such as the Church of Our Lady, the old St. John's Hospital, the gothic Town Hall are a reminder of Damme's glory days.

Damme is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing or even ice skating (during strong winters). The many nice terraces and restaurants are the perfect place to relax.
